At the Top of the World
Kedarnath

It was the summer of 1978. I had just completed my 10th Class Board Examination. That evening, my father entered home and declared, "We are going to Kashmir". And this started my long journey and love for the Himalayas. Despite 30 years of exploring the amazing places amongst these magnificent wonders,  I still crave to be standing in front of them relishing being at the top of the world.

I have seen the Himalayas as a wide-eyed teenager awestruck by the majestic mountains, as an energetic youth searching for the undiscovered treasures in the depth of the great natural emperor, as an overburdened busy executive enjoying the luxuries of the natural beauty and as an unsatisfied explorer trying to quench his thirst through the exploration of nature.

I always wanted to live near a vast water body. Water in any form, lakes, rivers, the sea or water-falls, is like a sanctuary for me. I always seek out large expanses of water bodies and get solace seating at its bank enjoying the beauty of nature. Water fascinates me, draws me close to it and gives me a feeling that I am not alone. The whole universe is protecting me.

We are inspired by water in every aspect of our life. As W. H. Auden said 'Thousands have lived without love, not one without water', we enjoy hearing its sound, smell it in air and feel it on our body. This series is created to present my desires of love of water.

Land of Happiness

During my quest of visiting exotic places, I landed up in the most mysterious lands in the world - Bhutan. The country is reputed for pioneering a concept, known as Gross National Happiness, that places people (and not material wealth) at the center of its developmental values. Every people I met talks in low voice with smiling face with open minds to learn your culture and share their religious believes.
